Planning to visit France from Oman? If your nationality requires a Schengen visa, you need to apply for a France Tourist Visa. A Schengen visa allows short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Applications submitted in Oman are processed by the Consular Section of the French Embassy in Muscat, with applications received through VFS Global Oman.
Documents Required
• Passport with at least two blank pages
• Completed Schengen visa application form
• Recent biometric photograph
• Oman residence card, for non-Omani residents
• Employment certificate or business documents
• Bank statements and proof of sufficient funds
• Hotel or accommodation booking
• Flight reservation or travel itinerary
• Schengen travel medical insurance with minimum €30,000 coverage
• Proof of the purpose of travel
• Previous visas, if available
• Additional documents, if requested
Visa Fee
Adult: €90
Children under 6: Free, subject to applicable exemptions.
Applicants should check the current equivalent fee in Omani rials and the VFS service charges before submitting their application.
Processing Time
The standard decision-making period for a French short-stay visa is generally 15 calendar days. In individual cases, the examination period can be extended up to 45 days where additional checks or documents are required.
Applicants should apply well in advance of their intended travel date.
